Reported side effects
The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation during dose escalation, and a notable skin-tingling or sensitivity reaction called dysesthesia was reported in about 21% of participants at the highest dose in Phase 3.
Who should avoid it
People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive, and those with a history of pancreatitis, medullary thyroid cancer, MEN 2, severe kidney or liver disease, severe gastroparesis, recent major heart events, or type 1 diabetes (in obesity studies) were excluded from retatrutide trials and should not use it outside of qualified medical care.
